Ontario Lacrosse Announces 2024 “A” Qualifiers Division Format
The Ontario Lacrosse Association (OLA, @ontariolacrosse) is excited to announce the competition format for the U13, U15 and U17 “A” Qualifiers. Played across two weekends in July and culminating with the Final Six Provincial Championships in August, the “A” Qualifiers will welcome the top teams in each division, as determined by MyLAX Rankings. For the first time ever, these events will be streamed live, allowing lacrosse fans worldwide to witness the excitement of the “A” Qualifiers and Final Six on the Ontario Lacrosse YouTube channel.
The top twelve (12) teams in the U13 division, and the top ten (10) teams in the U15 and U17 divisions will advance to “A” Qualifiers. These teams will play a complete round robin over the course of two weekends:
1st Weekend: July 5-7 at Earl Nichols Arena in London;
2nd Weekend: July 19-21 at Iroquois Park Sports Complex in Whitby;
Following completion of the full round robin, the top six teams in each division will advance to the “A” Provincial Championships.
The Final Six “A” Provincial Championships for the U13 and U15 divisions will take place at Iroquois Park Sports Complex and McKinney Arena during the Ontario Lacrosse Festival in Whitby, August 2-4.
The Final Six “A” Provincial Championships for the U17 division will take place at Earl Nichols Arena as part of the Ontario Summer Games multisport event in London, August 1-4.
The decision to apply the 12-team and 10-team formats were decided in pursuit of the most competitive gameplay according to MyLAX Rankings, with consideration given to the number of teams in each division.
Teams who qualify to participate in the “A” Qualifiers will be notified of their advancement via their association President. The playing schedule and other information related to the 2024 “A” Qualifiers will be circulated prior to the event and published at olafinalsix.com.
